There are distinguishable differences among end-users of research, implementation science, and research science. Research science can be theoretical or applied and is used to conceptualize and frame problems, test solutions for validity and reliability, and look for relationships among variables. Implementation science may not differ all that much from applied research science, but focuses on how best to implement strategies into practice. End-users are the recipients of the research findings, using them to activate change in a policy, procedure or protocol. The Health Care Value Research Consortium strives to serve practitioners of all three of these activities.
The Health Care Value Research Consortium is a partnership between Altarum and VBID Health, with funding from the PhRMA Foundation as part of its Value Assessment Initiative, established to promote the pursuit of value in health care delivery in the U.S.
